Neonatal abstinence syndrome

Neonatal abstinence syndrome is one such condition which affects the new born a lot. This condition gives so many problems to the infants. This condition is due to the intake of several medicines by the pregnant ladies. Some drugs such as barbiturates, cocaine, marijuana, diazepam and opiates such as heroin, methadone and codeine are dangerous to the pregnant ladies. When the pregnant ladies are intake this drug, the medicines slowly reaches the placenta. It is an organ which makes a connection to the fetus and mother. Through the placenta, the medicine reaches the fetus. Once the drug reaches the fetus, then the fetus will be addicted for the drug. The symptoms of this problem are diarrhea, fever, skin discoloration, seizures, excess sweating, etc. The treatment is based on the health condition of the infants.
